Little Hitters Mini Camp (ages 4-7yrs)
Our Little Hitters tennis camp is perfect for new starters or very young and aspiring players. With a clear emphasis on having fun on court, the Little Hitters camp gives players a chance to really get into tennis for the first time or to develop their key skills over a longer period of time. The course features elements of footwork, swing shapes, co-ordination, and team play as well as time off court to learn about the game. All classes are held in a mini court and players learn using either sponge or red tennis balls and 19-21" rackets.
Little Hitters Mini Camp runs from 10am-1pm each day at the NTC
Junior Squad Tennis Camp (ages 7-10yrs)
As players get older, they progress into ACTA's Junior level of play which is held on a 3/4 court and utilises orange transition tennis balls. The Junior Squad Camp is suitable for a range of players including beginners but its recommended that players have played some tennis previously to fit into our groups. The camp offers a great mix of teaching with some of our favourite academy drills and exercises blended with team games, coaches challenges and competitions. Look out at this age group for our favourite camp game of Cookie Tennis which has become quite famous amongst our regular players!
Junior Squad Tennis Camp runs from 10am-1pm each day at the NTC
Development Squad Tennis Camp (ages 10-13yrs)
Once players have moved out of mini tennis at the age of 10, progress is made on a full tennis court using hard yellow balls. Our development camp focuses on this age group and the growing need to add strength and power to each players game as well as cover more court space at a faster speed. ACTA does run some camps for improvers at this level using green transition balls so please make sure to mention your experience level when making an enquiry. All players in the development camp are encouraged learn to compete more regularly with a mix of singles, doubles and coaches challenges scheduled during the week but there is also plenty of time to work on grip changes, service actions and techniques including the development of spin and speed to various strokes.
Development Squad Tennis Camp runs from 10am-1pm each day at the NTC
Teenage Squad Tennis Camp (ages 13yrs-17yrs)
ACTA have recently developed a specific programme for teenage players based on its successful camps offered overseas. The teenage squad tennis camp is pitched at improver to intermediate level players who are not looking for performance tennis but would like to develop their game with other similar standard players. The week is held at Wimbledon Park which offers a great all weather base for the week including facilities for lunch. The course is run with an emphasis on rally play, open play points, doubles and partner based exercises. Players are encouraged to work at their own speed to develop their game with advice on creating a clear pathway of improvement for each player no matter what their standard of play. The course also encourages players to find out more about club tennis with information on linking their tennis to the LTA and competitive network of local tournaments.
Teenage Squad Tennis Camp runs from 10am-3pm each day at Wimbledon Park. Please note that this course is not suitable for beginners.
ACE Squad Performance Tennis Camp (ages 7-13yrs)
Our performance ACE squad camp is offered to players in the regular ACE squad programme and players outside the programme with equivalent LTA ratings. The majority of ACE squad camps are run at mini tennis age groups with places in groups allocated according to ball colour. As a guideline, most players in ACE squad camps are either a level one or one star in their age group. Older camps for advanced players are held at specific times during the year as well and largely dependent on demand from players and parents. The camps cover advanced techniques, mental skills and strength and conditioning as well as offering match play opportunities with results carried into a players rating via the LTA.
